Wildlife Hazard Management in Air Traffic Control

Wildlife Hazard Management in Air Traffic Control

Since the dawn of aviation, many aircraft incidents and accidents have occurred due to wildlife strikes. In many wildlife strike events, damage is sustained to the aircraft involved, and/or the aircraft is delayed allowing for an inspection of possible damage. In more serious cases, the damage from a strike could result in the aircraft being unable to maintain safe operations. Managing wildlife hazards is essential for the safe conduct of flight operations.
